technical help

Note: If you have an Apple "Mac" some of these suggestions may not apply.

1. When I click on the number of audio file I want to listen to, it starts to download to my computer rather than to stream. What do I do?

Answer:
If you click on the number of a file and it starts to download rather than "stream", your file associations for the MP3 file extension needs to be changed. To correct this, download and install from Microsoft's site their Media_Player. During installation, it will automatically change the file settings so by default you can listen rather than download the file.

2. I want to create a CD so I can listen to an address on my CD player (home, auto). How do I do this?

Answer:
First, you must download the file and save it on your computer hard drive. Then you must have a program that can take a MP3 file and convert it to a format playable on your CD player. There are many programs available to do this. One of the easiest to use is available for $19.95US. You may try it for free and burn up to 10 tracks before purchase. Download a copy at http://www.audioutilities.com/

3. I have a portable MP3 player. If I copy addresses to my player, will the name of the address and speaker display on my player?

Answer:
Likely the information will show. We use the standard fields as follows:

     Title: Name of Address
     Artist: Name of speaker
     Album: Scripture reference
     Genre: Ministry, English

In addition, minutes in length, size of file, bit rate and/or sample frequency may also display.

4. What bit rate and sample frequency is used when converting audio files to the mp3 format?

Answer:
The majority of addresses have been converted to mp3 format at 24kbs and 16000Hz.
A few early files were recorded at a lower bit rate/sample frequency that introduced "artifacts", which degrades the quality of the recording.
